We got to Bodh Gaya really early one morning and managed to fend off the touts telling us about their guesthouses. We walked down to near the Japanese temple and found Tokyo Vihar, a guy who worked there was outside washing his son's motorbike. It looks like the hotel has been refurbished recently, it's been nicely done. Beds were good, there was a new water heater on the wall that worked well and quickly, TV was good. We had a balcony on the side of the hotel that looked over the temple across the road. We stayed for two nights and paid Rs 1000 a night, this was after negotiation though. The staff were really nice and well trained which made a difference.

The rooms were neat and clean. The hotel staff was very cooperative and nice. Its location is in close proximity to the main attractions and about 10 minutes walking distance to the Mahabodhi Temple where Prince Siddhartha was enlightened and became Buddha. Very interesting and worth while to learn all the history on Buddha. I truly recommend this hotel and you will not be disappointed. Will be back for sure.
