Comments (English): The owner is polite, room maybe small but perfect for a few days stay. Amazing location, close to the city center.

Comments (English): If you want to feel as if you're living in a neighborhood and not in a tourist mecca, Split Central is a fine choice. It's not fancy, but it is scrupulously clean and very private. Yet it's barely a minute's walk to the waterfront and a few more to Diocletian's palace. Lydija, the landlady, is there if you need her and otherwise unobtrusive. She speaks fluent English and is also willing to do laundry. There is an excellent restaurant just under you window. Warning: It is a three- or four-story house with one room per floor, and the only staircase is a narrow spiral, so anything above the ground floor might be the wrong choice for anyone who has difficulty climbing or arrives with of luggage (though Lydija got my enormous bag upstairs). There is no kitchen or refrigerator. But the location is excellent. Note: if you're arriving by train or bus, Split Central is on the other side of the historic district, which means a cab has to take the long way around and may be expensive. Cross the waterfront on foot if you can manage your luggage. All in all, an excellent value.
