La Primera Sonrisa

La Primera Sonrisa is a romantic new bar and boutique hotel with stunning panoramic mountain and sea views at the entrance of the authentic and beautiful rural village of Polopos. The name 'The First Smile' embodies the mission we have as a welcoming host, promoter, ambassador and guide to this magnificent little village and area.

A fifteen minute drive up into the mountains will take you from the A7 highway exit 'La Mamola' and the beach front to this exquisite new spot in the Contraviersa mountains.

Polopos

Polopos is a magical quiet and authentic white washed village which are specific to the Alpujarras. Here you'll find farmers working their land with mules in the old fashioned way. Life here is lived at a slow pace with respect for nature, culture, and one another. Next to the local wine museum, a second bar and a church the village has, up to now, no other facilities.

Locals will welcome you and at the bar we sell local products, handicrafts and have essential needs available. Throughout the week local mobile suppliers will sell their fresh food like bread (daily), fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and household products on the street.

Surrounded by unspoiled nature, pine-, and cork oak forests, wine fields, and almond farms, this beautifully positioned place is perfect to relax or keep as a base for adventurous hikes, romantic picnics and for discovering the culture and activity rich area.
