Fantastic stay ... Stayed three nights, great setting, excellent hosts and a beautiful garden with summer house and a garden bar. Breakfast was lovely and the bedroom was clean, fresh and bright. Would book again.

With plenty of character and echoes of an old France gone by, we have captured the flavour of what a bed and breakfast should be. From the enchanting Moroccan tiles, the smells of fresh flowers and incense filling the rooms through to the intimate library of books and board games; it’s no wonder why guests are returning

Maison De L'Orb is a place for relaxation situated by a tranquil river and is steeped in historic events and photographs showing the many activities to be found in the surrounding areas of Beziers. Guests come to relax, unwind and to explore. The Canal Du Midi is within minutes from the property.

Each of our five bedrooms provides guests with excellent accommodation and some bedrooms offer magnificent views of the garden and river. All rooms have a touch of the modern with plasma televisions and a full hospitality tray. An intimate four course evening meal can also be offered. Beamed ceilings, original stone walls, tiled flooring, books and original art. Outside, our new entertaining space aptly named Jardin De L'Orb features a sun terrace, kitchen and a well-stocked bar.

Built in the early Nineteenth Century in front of the old beach in Beziers, the house was originally divided into three separate apartments. During WW2, Maison De L'Orb was used as a safe house by the local resistance

Room amenities

We have five tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms have recently been renovated to the highest standard. Each room has its own character and decoration. Many original paintings adorn the walls and the rooms have a home from home feel. One bedroom has a private terrace. The decor is simple, original tile flooring, exposed stonework and beams, lime washed walls and simple white wash paint, French style beds and original shutters with cotton flow drapes to hide the midday sun.

ALL rooms have English and Continental plug sockets, plasma televisions with channels from France and Spain, a hospitality tray with real coffee, biscuits and real milk in a flask, water jug and glasses, fresh flowers, free wifi in all rooms (an access code can be given upon arrival), fresh linen, cotton drapes, towels and complimentary toiletries. A welcome pack is also in each room detailing whats on in Beziers, recommendations, maps etc

Booking and cancellation policy

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

A deposit of 50% of the booking value will be required on your confirmation of the reservation if the date of arrival at your first accommodation is more than six weeks from the date of reservation. This deposit is non-refundable. Otherwise, payment in full is required. Payment in full will also be required at the time of booking if the reservation value is 100€ or less. If payment of the deposit or of the full amount (as applicable) is not received by the Maison De L'Orb within five working days of the client completing the payment form, due to incorrect credit/debit card details being provided, the reservation will be deemed void and the host will be free to accept alternative reservations and could have to pay any administration costs.

If you cancel a confirmed booking, the following penalties apply - Cancellation received by us 14 days or less before the first night booked (this is the first date on your itinerary and not individual stops) - No refund is guaranteed. However if the host is able to re let the rooms then a refund will be at their discretion. You may be able to negotiate the refund on your booking at the discretion or our agents and staff at the then time.

Cancellation received between 15 days and 28 days before first night booked - 50% refund of the value paid plus an admin fee of 25€.

Cancellation received between 29 days and 42 days before first night booked - 75% refund of the value paid plus an admin fee of 45€

How to get there

Exit (Sortie) 34 from the A9 Autoroute. At the traffic lights go straight on following the signs to the Gare and Narbonne. Pass in front of the Gare and continue until you approach the traffic lights. Go through the lights, the road veers to the left. Get into the left hand lane. Take the third left signposted "Maison de Associations". Continue down to the bottom where you will will see the River Orb. Follow the road round to the right, under a bridge and to the next right turn. Turn right and the building immediately on your left is Maison De L'Orb.

If coming from the direction of Narbonne, pass over the bridge over the River Orb and take the first right, quite sharp, take the next right turn and continue to the River Orb as above.

Railway: Gare De Beziers is located approximately a ten-minute walk away with connecting trains to Barcelona, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Nimes, Montpelier, Paris and Perpignan.
