arrived on Wednesday to be told the room had been double booked on Friday - however he had got us another room - for friday night - but when you only have 3 days do really want to move rooms -
TV didnt work - dirty kitchen - since looking on the website i now know this B&B as at least 2 different name !! beware sasha apartment / alexander's apartments -

I could not believe my experience with this B&B. I am planning a trip to Amsterdam in September and have been browsing online for hotels/B&B's/apartments for rent rather extensively. I sent an inquiry to Sasha of Sasha B&B. I needed 3 rooms and the website clearly advertises a reduced rate when booking 2 rooms together. When I inquired as to whether or not we'd recieve the discount on the 3rd, I recieved an irate response making personal attacks on my character. Never have I had such an experience, particularly when dealing with someone who is in a customer service oriented business. Suffice to say, this woman is INSANE. If you know what's good for you, steer clear of this disaster.

The room was ok, loaction is very good--and that's about it. Despite agreeing on a time to meet and check in, he wasn't there. Basically he has you show up at his place of work and they call him and let hm know to come over, from wherever he is. We waited an HOUR for him despite working all this out in advance.

We had the upper floor with double bed. Despite being on Vijzelstraat, a very touristy and busy street, there was no noise from outside. From inside--well, it was lovely to hear the other 8 people staying there as they slammed their doors as hard as they could about 1000 times a night, at all hours. It was like a gunshot through the room--made it impossible to sleep.

Everything else was a wash--no breakfast, none of the "amenities"in the room worked (temporarily he said)--fridge, TV, radio. I have the very distinct impression that he turned off those outlets, because he kept going on an on about how we needed to be careful and not use too much electricity!

We were allowed to use the tiny kitchen downstairs (with lots of dire warnings), but would usually wake up to find other guests had gone and shut themselves in to smoke their morning bowl--no getting in to even get some hot water. The WORST was the bathroom--8 people using a TINY toilet/shower. ONE TOILET FOR THE WHOLE BUILDING. The other guests were pigs, and left it filthy every day. Nice to have to use to the toilet with people banging on the door.

It is absolutely clear that he is renting the place illegally, because Amsterdam has very strict standards and rules about this. This is how he gets away with the inadequate facilities for so many people. I wouldn't want to be there when the city decides to check him out. Won't matter to me because I'll never, ever rent there again. If you are a stoner, or a stupid American college kid who doesn't know what quality is, you'll probably love it because in your ignorance you think this is the real Amsterdam. Everyone else, stay away.

Room was tiny but nice. Bathroom was really tiny. The street on which this place is,is busy street but you don't hear much traffic. I only stayed there for two days.
