 | Welcome to footprints backpacker hostel - a home away from home! looking for comfortable, clean and affordable accommodation in a friendly, cozy and relaxed environment? you have come to the right place. | | Footprints backpacker hostel is newly-renovated for comfort and modern conveniences. we might not be able to provide you with every creature comfort you are yearning for during your trip but we do our best to make you feel at home. all our rooms are fully air-conditioned and if it’s fresh tropical air you are looking for, most of them have windows you can open. you will enjoy a restful night in our comfortable beds which comes with clean fresh linen. cleanliness is a priority at home (most homes anyways). hence, we take pride in keeping our rooms clean and well-maintained.
for your security and peace of mind, we have a cctv (closed circuit television) installed to monitor various parts of the hostel and lockers are available for the safekeeping of your more valuable belongings. we also provide coin-operated laundry services, 24 hours wi-fi, and a range of souvenirs as a keepsake of your wonderful memories of your stay with us in singapore. | | To start your day off on the right note, a hearty breakfast will be provided for all our guests. there will be fruits, bread, peanut butter and variety of jams. you can wash this down with coffee or tea.
after an exhilarating day around the island, our spacious, comfortable and cosy communal area will no doubt be a welcomed sight. a large collection of games, a well-stocked library with magazines and both travel and non-travel related books await you. if it is the telly you are missing, relax in front of our 42-inch lcd television. alternatively, you may also chill out and meet new friends at our very own footprints coffee club where a variety of food and drinks will be served. Footprints Backpacker Hostel is conveniently located right smack in the middle of the culturally rich Little India, the centre for Singapore's Indian community. This ethnic quarter is packed with interesting treasures awaiting to be discovered. Retaining much of its authentic charm and distinct identity, this district is not what you would expect of the generally rather ‘sanitized’ Singapore. It is one of the most colourful and exotic places to visit on the island. The streets are dotted with small shops and eateries and if you are a bargain-hunter, cheap-gets are aplenty. Modern shopping malls and convenient public transport and other tourist attractions are also just within walking distance! | | Directions | Upon arrival at the CHANGI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
- Get a free copy of the "The Official Map of Singapore" and other brochures that interest you.
- Footprints Backpacker Hostel is located on grid 6E, at 25A Perak Road
- Check out the Terminal you arrive in: Terminal 1, 2, 3 or budget terminal
You can make your way to Footprints by MRT, taxi or bus. | | Transportation | By MRT:
- The Changi Airport MRT station is located under Terminals 2 and 3, and is linked to the arrivals and departures by escalators and lifts.
- If you arrived at Terminal 1 or budget terminal, please proceed to the MRT station at Changi Airport Terminal 2 or 3 via skytrain or airport shuttle buses.
- Purchase an *a stored value EZ-link card OR one journey card or Tourist Pass** from the MRT station control;
- Take the MRT to Little India station. The journey is about 30 minutes. Afterwhich, Footprints is just 5 to 10 minutes away on foot. The Singapore Map you picked up at the airport would come in handy now.
- MRT fare is less than SGD $3 (inclusive of the refundable deposit of SGD$1)
By TAXI:
- The taxi stand is located just outside the Arrival Hall of the airport.
- The taxi fare is about SGD $20 (before midnight) and about SGD $30 (after midnight).
- Certain surcharges might apply, for example like airport surcharge, Public Holiday surcharge etc, which can cost from S$4 to S$10.
- The journey takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
By BUS:
- SBS bus no.36 runs between Orchard Road and Singapore Changi Airport. The public bus stations are located in Terminal 1 at Basement 2, and in Terminal 2 at Basement Level.
- The bus fare ranges from S$0.80 to S$1.70.
- There is no direct bus to footprints hostel. Hence, the MRT is really a much better option. Fast, convenient and comfortable!
*You may purchase the EZ-link card if you are staying in Singapore for 3 days or more. It's S$15. You can use it on the MRT or buses. Any unused balance will be refunded at any of the MRT stations.
** The Tourist Pass offers unlimited rides on the MRT, LRT and basic bus services at just SGD 8 per day. It comes with a one-day, two-day or three-day pass with a refundable S$10 deposit (the pass must be returned within five days). The pass also comes bundled with merchant offers, providing you with more benefits during your stay in Singapore. You can purchase it at the Changi Airport, Orchard, Chinatown, City Hall, Raffles Place, Ang Mo Kio, HarbourFront and Bugis MRT stations as well as at selected Singapore Visitors Centres. |
