Vila CasaNova is a small guest house with Bed and Breakfast amenities in the cozy atmosphere of a quite residential street in Santa Teresa, a historical neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.

The house is a charming four-floor rustic eighties construction where bricks and concrete contrast with nature and a wide view of the green and the city center.

We are conveniently close to the center and Lapa, at only 10 minutes

from Corcovado, in a place from where you can easily reach the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, the Sugar Loaf, the Maracanã football stadium and the Sambódromo where the great carnival parade
happens.

Our B & B is also only a walking distance from the local commerce with its shops, restaurants, cafes and a cool bohemian nightlife.

All our rooms are in a tranquil and private ambient and have either a ceiling fan or an air conditioning.

The lounge area is a spacious room surrounded by huge windows looking onto a stunning view. It is a bright and fresh ambient with a stereo, computer, books and games at your disposal.

In the dining room or outside at the flowery kitchen patio, a rich Brazilian breakfast is served. This is a meeting time and a good opportunity for getting acquainted with the local habits and to find out whats on in the
city.

On the ground floor of the house is a huge area sky open with more than 200m2, with a garden surrounded by small palm trees and flowers, a swimming pool, a bar and the covered patio. It is a privileged place to be, lying in a hammock, reading, sunbathing, even studying, or working in a more relaxed way.

Every now and then we produce happenings with good food and live music. The menu varies from a typical brazilian feijoada to italian pizzas and the music goes from samba to jazz. At New Years Eve we serve by the pool a nice supper to our guests and some friends.

ATTENTION!
- The complete street adress will be sent to you together with your booking confirmation.
- The payment of the balance due should be done at check in time in cash (we don´t work with credit cards) in Brazilian Reais, US Dolars, Euros or GB Pounds.
- For stays longer than 10 days we kindly ask a 20% advanced deposit.


NEW YEAR and CARNIVAL season conditions:

*New Year 2007: Minimum Stay of 4 nights in the period within Dec 29 and Jan 02, with advanced and not refundable deposit of 50% of the total balance due.
(By now we have availability only for the Garden Studio, a big ensuite room with two ambients. It´s double but can be arranged with up to 4 beds under request)

*Carnival 2007: Minimum Stay of 6 nights in the period within Fev 14 and Fev 21, with advanced and not refundable deposit of 50% of the total balance due.
